Where your data lives
Section titled “Where your data lives”Each app, database, n8n workspace, HivePod and backup is stored in the region you created it in, and stays there. Choose the region that suits your users and any data-location needs.
Hive Buckets files are encrypted and stored across multiple regions, so a whole region can go down without losing data. Each bucket has a home region, its fastest place to read from. See Endpoints and regions.
Your account details (email, plan, billing) are kept centrally to run your account.
How it’s protected
Section titled “How it’s protected”- In transit: app, pod and workspace addresses and custom domains are served over HTTPS. Databases require TLS by default.
- Secrets: app environment variables and stored repository tokens are encrypted at rest and hidden in the console (the app’s owner can reveal environment variables through the API). Database passwords are stored encrypted.
- Isolation: each app, database, workspace and pod runs separately, with its own resource limits.
- Databases accept no connections until you allow an address, app or pod, and are never reachable before their firewall is in place.
- Build logs hide your environment variable values.
When you delete things

| n8n workspace | Kept for 7 days so you can restore it, then deleted. |
| HivePod | Deleted immediately with its files. Its backups are kept for 7 days, then deleted. |
| Bucket | Must be empty before it can be deleted. Deleted objects are removed immediately, unless versioning or object lock keeps them. |
